Board Member Rob Ford's article - "Adventures in Gamification and Personalized Learning: A Case Study in Game-Based Course Design" - was chosen to receive the 2022 English Leadership Quarterly Best Article Award. The award is one of the Conference on English Leadership’s highest honors.

At the 27th New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards (the "Edies"), longtime NEATE champion, Ann Garland West, received the "Doris Barnes Retired Educator Lifetime Achievement Award." This award was created to honor a retired teacher who has continued to work for the betterment of public education after retirement. You can read her remarks on the occasion here.

Past-President Dr. Kimberly Parker is being awarded the 2020 NCTE Outstanding Educator in English Language Arts. The Elementary Section Steering Committee selected Dr. Kim Parker and Dr. Gloria Boutte as co-awardees, stating that "uniting these two outstanding educators who work in school, community and university spheres uniquely reflects the vision and mission of NCTE and our section."
