Ann Garland West Excellence in Teaching Award

 Do you have a veteran colleague who is overdue for some recognition? Take a few minutes to nominate him or her for NEATE’s Excellence in Teaching Award. The Excellence in Teaching Award, presented annually at the NEATE Fall Conference, goes to a teacher with at least seven years’ experience teaching English/Language Arts who exhibits the following qualities:


• Extensive knowledge of his or her discipline
• Interest in and concern for students and the ability to challenge and motivate them
• Involvement in professional organizations and/or staff development.

To nominate a colleague, friend or associate, download the nomination form, fill in the blanks, and briefly explain how this teacher meets the criteria listed above.
